1. General Platform & Gameplay

What is CanvasClashes?
CanvasClashes is an instant-play web gaming platform featuring four distinct game modes: Jigsaw Puzzle Master, Cyber Slider Puzzle, Cyber Tetris Matrix, and Canvas Clash Arena. All games run directly in your browser without downloads or plugins, powered by high-performance HTML5 Canvas and WebGL.
Are the games on CanvasClashes completely free to play?
Yes! 100% of our core games, daily tournaments, and gallery of 419+ fine artworks are completely free to play. You do not need to enter payment details or purchase coins to enjoy unlimited gameplay.
Do I need to install any mobile apps, extensions, or software?
No. CanvasClashes runs natively in any standard web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Opera) across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and ChromeOS. You can bookmark the website or add it to your mobile home screen as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for one-tap access.
What does "Play in <5 seconds" mean?
Our rendering engine is lightweight (<150KB total asset payload) and starts immediately upon page load. Unlike bulky game engines that download multi-megabyte WebAssembly packages, CanvasClashes initializes within milliseconds, letting you start solving puzzles virtually instantaneously.

2. Accounts & Leaderboards

Do I need an account to play?
No, guests can play any game in our gallery immediately without an account. However, creating a free account allows you to record your scores to the global Hall of Fame, compete on the Daily Clash podium, track your Pieces Per Minute (PPM) career statistics, save in-progress games to the cloud, and upload personal photos.
How does the Daily Clash tournament work?
Every day at 00:00 UTC, the server chooses one featured artwork with an identical piece distribution seed for all players globally. Solvers compete to complete the puzzle in the fewest seconds and moves. The top 3 finishers earn podium medals displayed on the homepage!
How is Pieces Per Minute (PPM) calculated?
PPM is the standard speed-solving metric in virtual jigsaw puzzles. It is calculated as: (Total Puzzle Pieces / Elapsed Seconds) * 60. For example, assembling a 100-piece puzzle in 200 seconds yields a PPM of 30.0.

3. Custom Photos & Image URLs

Can I turn my own personal photos into puzzles?
Yes! Registered players have access to the Cloud Photo Vault where you can upload JPG, PNG, and WebP images. Your uploaded images can be played across all four game modes.
How does playing via an Image URL work? Is it private?
In the left sidebar of any game, you can paste any direct web image URL (e.g., from Unsplash or Wikimedia). The image is loaded directly into your browser's local RAM. It is never saved on our server, never cached on disk, and no gameplay statistics are recorded. It is 100% private and disappears as soon as you close the tab.
What image formats and resolutions are supported?
We support JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, and SVG images. For best visual fidelity, we recommend images with a minimum resolution of 1200x800 pixels.

4. Art Licensing & Copyright Notice

Where do the 419+ gallery artworks come from?
Artworks in our curated public collections are sourced from verified public domain archives (such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art Open Access Program and NASA Imagery Archives), licensed creative commons sources, or curated educational art archives preserved for cultural and non-commercial game study.
What should I do if my copyrighted artwork appears without authorization?
We take intellectual property rights very seriously. If you believe your copyrighted work is hosted on our platform without valid authorization or outside fair use guidelines, please contact us immediately at ivailo.nenchev@gmail.com with the image URL, and we will review and remove the material within 24 hours.
